I never thought that we can turn Google into a very powerful mp3 files search engine, really helpful when we want to download an mp3 files.
I know that we can search for specific file type on Google using filetype: keyword, but that’s only for a certain file type like .pdf, .chm, .doc, .xls, .ppt etc, but not for mp3, or I though so, until this morning when I found this Google hacks, How to Download MP3 from WWW using Google.
It turn out that we can use these following query to look for any mp3 files on Google:
?intitle:index.of? mp3 [artist] [title]
like
?intitle:index.of? mp3 coldplay
?intitle:index.of? mp3 “simple plan”
?intitle:index.of? mp3 “simple plan” untitled
?intitle:index.of? mp3 “welcome to my life”
or
“parent directory” MP3 -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums [artist] [title]
or
?inurl:multiply.com/music? [artist] [title]
All we need to do is just replace [artist] with the artist/singer/band you’re looking for and [title] with the song title. Just one of them also fine.
Then the magic will show up, Google will give us a lot of site URL that contain a link to mp3 files that we can download freely, but please, if you really like it, buy the CDs :).
I found this following query, and its definitely the best query compare to the previous three :)
-inurl:(htm|html|php) intitle:”index of” +”last modified” +”parent directory” +description +size +(.mp3|.wma) [artist] [title]
